Durable, function as advertised. The SIG P320 21 rd practice mags are 60% of the actual full mag weight. Sufficient for my use. Follower allows user to cycle the action w/o slide lock. In short, dryfire practice is more realistic and efficient with this product. Add a laser 'bullet' simulator &...

I was surprised by how sturdy these feel for being plastic. They have a good weight to them and can handle being dropped on the floor without getting damaged. They fit my Shadow 2 perfectly and fall out easily when the mag release is pressed.

Pleased with these, no longer need to drop actual magazines on the floor while practicing reloading drills. These simulate the weight nicely of a loaded magazine. Decent price too, thanks. ????????????

Great product for practicing reload drills. The weight is a good thing as you feel as if you are loading a full mag. You get to practice without the possibility of damaging your actual magazines

These are great for dry fire practice as they simulate a loaded mag. The problem I have though is that if you use them to do reload practice during dry fire the locking tabs for the magazine become deformed. The high force and speed of inserting one of these mags causes the plastic to deform and...

I had previously sent an email to you stating that this is a very innovative product for the shooter who wants to practice reloads of various types . I use this at home; and, at the range for practice exercises before I go to live fire. This saves the wear and tear on my 2011 magazines, which are...

I like these. Broke two of them at the lips. That's a sign of using them a lot. I bought three more. I only wish they were slightly heavier, but then the extra weight would probably mean more broken lips.

Ordered this Mag to carry while running the course in the Heartbreak Run And Gun. It worked perfectly. Kept all the vast mud out of the gun. Plus when not using it as a mag well filler this magazine works great with dry fire practice. Makes the gun feel loaded and the correct loaded weight.

I have been using these for about 6 weeks and I typically dry fire practice 5 days a week. The mags weigh 8.2 oz on my scale and my unloaded mag weighs 3.8 oz (with TTI +5 base pads) so you definitely get a realistic feel for a loaded magazine. The practice mags seem to perfectly replicate the...

I bought 3X for dry-fire with my Glock 17 gen 4. The first mag got stuck in the gun and i had to put my Glock in a vice and use pliers to pull the mag out again.
I then measured all the dry-fire mags and all my original Glock mags. The dry-fire mags are all 23.1 mm wide. My original Glock...

The five pack is a good value, and provides enough dry-fire practice magazines to fill the competition belt, and one in the pistol. They lock in place perfectly, the weight is correct, and the color means no question mistaking the wrong magazine or selecting a magazine with ammunition. For dry...

1911 mags aren’t great. There is an odd lip on the front of the magazine that will hang up on my frame as I am performing reloads. It’s not possible to replicate this issue with a loaded magazine. I also had one of their magazines explode into bits when it hit the ground. Great concept, but the...

Bought these for Sig X5 and Akai 2011. Fantastic mags that work flawlessly. The weight simulates a full mag. Sent several reloads yard sailing across the garage on concrete floor and they have been very durable. A must have if you want an excellent replacement for real mags for dry fire.

Combo: DAA Dry-Fire Practice Mag, Pack of 3

Manufacturers: Double-Alpha Academy
Dry-Fire Magazines Note
The dry-fire magazine does not reset your trigger!

Description:

Pack of 3 - DAA Dry Fire Practice Magazine

The DAA Dry-Fire Practice Magazine is designed to emulate as closely as possible the feel and performance of a fully loaded real magazine. It allows you to dry-fire without introducing dummy loaded rounds to weigh down real magazines, which can be risky, and saves wear on your real mags.

Using internal steel weights, it comes close to the actual weight of a fully loaded mag, and the Patent-Pending spring-loaded follower on the top of the mag pushing up against the slide as you insert it into the gun, making the reload feel just like the real thing!

The tension on the follower makes not only the insertion feel realistic, but also ensures that the magazine does not rattle around in the gun while you train, when you hit the mag-release, it ejects under some tension, just like the real thing. The mag and follower are design NOT to activate the slide stop so you can practice racking the slide as you load, without having it lock back.

No ammo of any kind can be loaded into these magazines, helping to keep your dry-fire safe and ammo-free. The purple color and red follower make it clear to all that these are not real magazines and that no live ammo is in play.

The DAA Dry-Fire Practice Mag is constructed of durable fiber-reinforced nylon, and can take a beating. But we still recommend to avoid dropping the mags onto a concrete floor, as they are heavy and some damage may occur. Some customers have had breakage of the upper lips when dropping on concrete! Dropping onto tiled floors may damage both the floor and the magazine!
We recommend dropping onto a carpeted floor or something that can absorb the impact.

We have tried to design the base pads of the magazines to fit with most magwells, however, it is possible that some magwells may prevent the magazine from seating all the way. Fortunately, these magazines can easily be filed on with a file or dremmel tool to fit your particular magwell type.

Please note:
We do not recommend using these dry-fire mags in combination with the CoolFireTrainer!
The high speed motion of the slide created by the CFT, combines with the spring loaded follower pushing up, causes the magazine to bounce violently as the gun cycles.
This leads to excessive wear around the mag catch area and can render them unusable.

Will these mags fits my gun?

It is impossible for us to say for sure if the magazine will fit your particular gun model. There are over 150 brands of 1911’s and probably 30 or more high cap 2011 frames on the market. There are many generations of Glocks too, and a bunch of CZ’s. It’s impossible for us to test them all.

What we can say is this:

The 1911 model mag was modelled from a Megar 1911 8 round .45 mag. If such a mag fits your gun, so should the DAA Dry-fire Mag.

The 2011 model mag was modelled from an STI 140mm 38S mag. If such a mag fits your gun, so should the DAA Dry-fire Mag.

The Glock magazine was modelled from a 9mm G17 Gen4 mag. If such a mag fits your gun, so should the DAA Dry-fire Mag.

The CZ magazine was modelled from a SP01 9mm mag, and testing in the Shadow2 as well. If such a mag fits your gun, so should the DAA Dry-fire Mag.

The SIG320 mag was modelled from a P320 9mm mag, and tested on the P320X5 as well. If such a mag fits your gun, so should the DAA Dry-fire Mag.

*** it is possible that you may need to remove a little plastic from the base pad of the magazine to fit your magwell.

These are great for dry fire practice as they simulate a loaded mag. The problem I have though is that if you use them to do reload practice during dry fire the locking tabs for the magazine become deformed. The high force and speed of inserting one of these mags causes the plastic to deform and present a bur. The result is that the mag no longer drops free and will sometimes have issues seating. I have cut off the bur but they will reform over time and will eventually wear down the locking tabs.

I use this at home; and, at the range for practice exercises before I go to live fire. This saves the wear and tear on my 2011 magazines, which are fairly expensive, and reduces the need to dedicate mags for reload practice of any nature. No need to retune a magazine that has hit the ground before a match.

The mags weigh 8.2 oz on my scale and my unloaded mag weighs 3.8 oz (with TTI +5 base pads) so you definitely get a realistic feel for a loaded magazine. The practice mags seem to perfectly replicate the dimensions of a real magazine, fit mag pouches perfectly and load/drop from the gun just like a real mag. I bought these because I didn’t want my match mags to take a beating from dry fire practice. However, I only gave 3 stars because the durability of these plastic mags needs improvement. I have already shattered 1 of the mags while practicing reloading. Unless you practice on a thickly padded surface you will break these. They need to be made out of a a more durable/less brittle material.

After that I grinded the dry-fire mags down to 22,8mm and they all work like a charm!
Except the size-issue the magazines work good and as intended!
I just believe for that prize they should have been cast in a mould with the exact dimensions.
I have not tried the magazines for any other gun and do not know if this is a problem with other brands of guns.

[DAA reply]: it seems that one of your mags wasn't glued properly - please contact us through the website and we will get that replaced for you.

The five pack is a good value, and provides enough dry-fire practice magazines to fill the competition belt, and one in the pistol. They lock in place perfectly, the weight is correct, and the color means no question mistaking the wrong magazine or selecting a magazine with ammunition. For dry fire without the slide locking back, they work perfectly, useful when practicing reset. These magazines work great for practicing mag changes or mag reloads. I purchased a five pack of the CZ mags, and also of the P320 mags; both work flawlessly, and I will be ordering a set for the Glock, as well.

I have two each Glock Gen 3 pistols and two each Glock Gen 4 pistols, and none of the three magazines would fit in any of the frames without reducing their external dimensions. Once I got them to seat and drop free they’ve been great for dry-fire training and practice.
