Just got this the other day I had bought Winchester pistol primers nothing would load these
Well this does and does it well yes you have to use it to get used to it also found that if you take a countersink to the tubes it helps the holes are not totally in line love it

Very high quality construction and materials.

Works smoothly and easily - tremendously better than picking them up manually. For the price, it's a no brainer if you're loading any serious amount. Wish I had bought one the first time I saw it.

Like this product. I have some trouble flipping primers with it but it loads tubes very well. When I mess it up there are primers everywhere.

By far, this is one of the best pieces of reloading equipment I"ve bought in quite some time. It works just like the youtube videos. Very easy to use and works everytime.

Works well as a tube filler when you get the proper insert depth set on the fill tubes. Doesn't work as well as a regular flip tray for getting the primers properly oriented. Seems to be better built than many of the vibratory primer tube fillers on the market.

It works! I’ve tried other primer tube filling products for years. I even have a Dillon RF100. Nothing before has consistently worked with large primers. This works! My only complaint is the tubes that DA has for the PrimaFil are a little short. They barely hold 100 large pistol and only about 95...

I have had two other primer fillers the first one broke, The second one was a Franklin. That was just OK. The ergonomics were bad. Yes the pistol looking design was cute but it was difficult to properly seat the primer tube. Well I just got the DAA Primafil and easily loaded 1000 primers in...

Had hang-ups with small primers at first. I found that if I set the bottom of the filler tube on a soft surface and put slight pressure to center the tube perfectly with the hole it worked great. Seems to deaden vibration at the tube where they drop almost completely eliminated hang-ups. The grid...

I love all things DAA. I am a fan and have bought many items. All are high quality, well made, well thought out, and most have a nice instructional video by Sol. The latest purchase is the Primafill. First I bought the Rockford Arsenal. Could never get it to work right. It took longer to load 100...

I've been loading on two Dillon 650s for around 25 years. I quickly decided that I didn't want to use a flip tray and pick-up tubes, so I bought a Frankfort Arsenal Vibra Prime. The VP worked okay, but is pretty flimsy. Several months ago, I bought a Primer Fill. What a great improvement over the...

You can't beat it! I've tried them all and can't find anything better. Fast accurate, I love it. So far I've only loaded the small primers. I loaded 10,000 small primers and I can't think of any way it could be improved.

Double Alpha should make a primer tray that fits the internal dimensions of the DAA Primer Fill so one can invert the Primer Fill Unit into the primer tray and just flip it, problem solved. The current DAA Primer Tray (sold separately) will not fit the inside...

There are a number of things worth noting on the Primafill. First, this thing is robust! It is by no means a flimsy plastic product. It is assembled with Torx fasteners, they could have easily cut corners using pins or snap together construction. The switch is metal and the motor is powerful. The...

This is a great primer tube filler. I did some practice fills with it to figure out how much you need to slant the tray to get the primers to feed in the Channel and down the tube.

DAA PRIMAFILL

(73)
Manufacturers: Double-Alpha Academy

Description:

The Double-Alpha PRIMAFILL is a semi-automatic primer-tube filling solution, able to quickly and easily fill both Small and Large primer tubes. It allows you to switch between Small and Large primers instantly, without tools or assembly.

The PRIMAFILL can be used with any primer tubes which have an 8mm outer diameter, such as Dillon, or DAA tubes. It does not require a custom adaptor piece fitted to the tube, as other competing products require. So using the PRIMAFILL, you will be able to fill all your primer tubes!

The Extra-Large flip-tray area is convenient when emptying large primer boxes, such as Federal and others. The tray is large enough for the entire box to fit over.

The PRIMAFILL is powered by a regular 9v battery (not included). A momentary ON switch falls naturally under your index finger as you hold the device for right hand use, with your thumb centered on top of the lid. Hold the button down as you feed the primers into the tube, and release as soon as the last primer vanishes down the exit hole. Since this action should take 20 seconds or less, one battery charge will last for many thousands of primers.

The spring-loaded orange latches incorporated into the output posts enable you to snap a tube into place, or remove it, instantly without any twists or turns, the latch falls naturally under your thumb: you press down on it as you insert the tube up, and  you press up on the latch as you extract the tube downwards. An Easy and natural apposing thumb action.

Primer tubes and battery are not included!

Operating Instructions:

  1. Ensure a 9v battery is inserted and test by pushing the powder button. The device should vibrate and hum gently in  your hand. Do not remove the foam pad from under the battery, it is required there.
  2. Remove the lid, and position the magnetically-retained stopper to block either the LARGE or the SMALL exit hole to match your needs. Flip it over when moving it from one side to the other.
  3. Stand the PRIMAFILL on a flat table, and place 100 primers on the flip tray area.
  4. With the device resting on a smooth table top, slide it around with short, sharp motions to flip all the primers until they are all anvil side  up.
  5. Replace the lid and insert a primer tube into the appropriate exit hole. Push down on the orange latch as you insert the pipe into place, and make sure it seats all the way home.
  6. Hold the device in  you right hand, with  your index finger on the button and your thumb centered on the lid. Tilt the PRIMAFILL so that the primers bunch-up near the BLOCKED exit hole (so by the LARGE when feeding SMALL primers)
  7. Activate the vibratory motor by pressing and holding the power button, then gradually tilt the device towards the open exit hole (to the right for SMALL primers) so that a single (or at most a double) row is formed towards the exit hole. Also tilt the device towards you to assist the primers in running down the exit channel to the exit hole. Do not tilt more than necessary in either axis. Try to keep the PRIMAFILL as horizontal as possible, while still creating sufficient motion in the primers.

Please Note:

  • Various brands of primers will flip best with different types of agitation motion of the flip tray. Experiment to find the optimal flip tray action required to flip your primers.
  • Various types of primers will slide differently, at different speeds. Some will require you to hold the device at a steeper angle to get them moving properly. Experiment a little to find the correct feeding angle best for your primers.
  • If a primer hangs on the exit hole, a tap with your left hand finger on top of the lid above the hole should clear that up instantly. No need to stop the vibration of the device or remove the lid.
  • If your primer tubes have an entry hole chamfer that is not well formed or not symmetrical, this can create a ledge that primers may hang up as they fall down into the tube. Try using the other end of your tube. Or, try rotating the tube to find the angle that allows the primers to flow uninterruptedly into the tube. You can mark that with a Sharpie on  your tube, so  you can easily position it again the same way.
  • Primer Tubes are NOT included with the device, in order to reduce costs and packaging size. Order tubes separately, if you need them.

I like that when the tube is inserted its locked in the Primafil. Also I can watch as the tube fills through the clear red cover. This is important for me because I've been buying bulk primers. I can easily see when the tube is full.

First I bought the Rockford Arsenal. Could never get it to work right. It took longer to load 100 primers than the pick and peck method. Then I bought the Hornady. It worked about 60% of the time. Still got stuck primers 40% of the time. Now, I have a reliable primer fill - the Primafill.

The VP worked okay, but is pretty flimsy. Several months ago, I bought a Primer Fill. What a great improvement over the VP!! I've loaded around 20k primers now with the Primer Fill. Much sturdier, more efficient design, compared to the Vibra Prime. A friend has loaded over 80k primers on his Primer Fill and has yet to change the battery. I highly recommend the Primer Fill!

Works great, almost flawlessly.

Double Alpha should make a primer tray that fits the internal dimensions of the DAA Primer Fill so one can invert the Primer Fill Unit into the primer tray and just flip it, problem solved. The current DAA Primer Tray (sold separately) will not fit the inside deminsions of the Primer Fill.

One you get the nack of controlling the unit, left to right and front to back when loading the primers into the primer tube, you can fill the tubes very fast. It's all practice, beats doing it by hand.

I see complaints about the primers flipping in the tray while loading a primer tube, simple fix to that problem. Just press down on the units lid with slight finger pressure and the primers will not flip over. I have noticed that the primers that flip do so while vibrating agains the large primer block piece directly opposit the small primer tube hole that you are filling. Pressing down on the cover of the DAA Primafill solves the problem.

When the primers get stuck while entering the primer tube use your case neck deburring tool to smooth it out. If the deburring wasn't the problem, do not tilt the unit so severely towards the primer tube you are filling hold it more level.

There are a number of things worth noting on the Primafill. First, this thing is robust! It is by no means a flimsy plastic product. It is assembled with Torx fasteners, they could have easily cut corners using pins or snap together construction. The switch is metal and the motor is powerful. The body is soft touch plastic making it easy to hold especially for my dry calloused hands. The magnetic gate for blocking the unused port is a novel idea and further shows the thought and care that went into the design of the product. In addition, it sits flat and stows easily on the bench whether in or out of the box in any orientation. This is a key factor for me, I despise an accessory that consumes excessive storage space.

Functionally it does what it is designed to do and it does it well. I hate the mundane task of filling primer tubes by hand, especially ten at once the Primafill does so in seconds even with the ‘sticky’ WSP & WSR primers.

Overall it is a great value especially when compared to the cheaper Asian made pistol grip products. I have zero regrets with spending a little more for a quality product.

Could it be better? Yes. Here are my recommendations for Primafill V2:
The soft touch surface is nice but it seems like every product I’ve owned over the years with this coating has degraded into a sticky mess. Admittedly most have been Asian made, I hope that doesn’t happen with the Primafill but consider alternatives like maybe molded in stippling similar to to that on Magpul grips. Secondly, it really needs some means of holding the cover on. How about a couple of tiny magnets in the lid? Finally, and this is a big one, do away with the washboard style of ribs and go with concentric circles like conventional primer trays. Maybe you have your reasons for doing it this way but the washboard orientation makes flipping frustrating at times. Maybe you need a combination so that the flow path works correctly, straight on the side where the full ports are and circular over the rest of the surface. Two shakes of my RCBS tray and all my primers are flipped. The Primafill takes several and can be a game a times. And one last gripe, would it break the bank to include a few 8mm tube caps with the product? I bought a bag of 100 from Amazon for less than 10USD. Not a deal breaker by any means but even two caps would have been handy to have to get started.

Finally, this being my first DAA product purchase I can say after using it and seeing what thought went into the design, I wouldn’t have any reservations about purchasing future DAA products.

This is a great primer tube filler. I did some practice fills with it to figure out how much you need to slant the tray to get the primers to feed in the Channel and down the tube.
The videos are a good place to start. It will feed them fast if you take your time and do not let the primers make a traffic jam. Think of it like a pencil stream of water you want to run in the hole.
All I can say is that it works great once you figure out what angle you need to hold the unit.
