"Who would have thought dissecting a ruler could be easy to teach children and fun at the same time? It's about time changes were made to the structure of a ruler that will enable students to measure more accurately and with greater understanding. The colored overlays are more appealing to the students, and more importantly, allow the teacher to teach one step at a time. The ruler allows teachers to focus on one fraction of measurement at a time very clearly. Once the students have mastered the half inch, they can then move on to the smaller, more efficient fractions of the ruler. Students can also discover for themselves equivalent fractions by observing the overlapping in color. As a teacher, I'm thrilled with "The Master Ruler". I appreciate anything that will make teaching easier and learning less frustrating."

"I was very impressed with "The Master Ruler"! As an architect and a teacher, I thought it was very easy to use. I was surprised with the students reaction. I did not expect it to be so dramatic. Teaching woodworking, architectural & mechanical drafting to high school students, I encounter the same frustrations other teachers are going through at the elementary level. I find it difficult to get the concept of measuring across to my students, let alone the concept of scaling a drawing to fit on a sheet of paper. These frustrations do not stop at the conceptual phase, but continue into the practical phase as well. I can not begin to tell you how many times that I have asked a student to cut a piece of lumber to 8'-61/2" and the piece comes back 8'-63/4" or the times that I ask a student to measure something and he/she comes back and tells me the measurement; "It's 10'6" and this line right here!"
You have brought learning to a new level! I can only come to one conclusion when I work with individuals in high school, college, and in the work force that do not know how to measure, they did not get the concept during the formative years. I hope that you will be able to produce "The Master Ruler" in the near future, so that the educational society can benefit!"

"I found that it only took ten minutes to teach my second grade students how to measure, 1 inch and 1/2 inch. They actually enjoyed the lesson on measurement because it cut down on their level of frustration and gave them a feeling of success. I passed "The Master Ruler" to our Staff Developer who taught a fourth grade class with it. Her immediate response was to ask where she could get them for all of the students? She used the overhead projector to teach 1 inch and 1/2 inch measurement. Using "The Master Ruler" with the overhead she was able to teach measurement to the entire class. Everyone I showed the ruler to wanted to buy it as soon as possible."
Ms. Anne Sowers - 1st. Grade
Rock Christian Academy,
Easton, Pennsylvania
"It's so clear because you can see how the inch is cut in 1/2 and then 3/4 and how a 1/4 is a 1/2 of a 1/2. It took me ten minutes to teach them the 1/2. It is great because the students can not reverse the ruler - they have to start at the one inch."
Ms. Deborah Cascioli - 3rd. Grade
Harmony Township School,
Harmony, New Jersey
"What a great teaching device! The students had a much better understanding of measuring. They were much more accurate using "The Master Ruler". I did a control study using 2 groups - one using the standard ruler and the other using "The Master Ruler". 100% of the students got 100% incorrect measures with the standard rulers. However, 100% of the students got correct measures 100% of the time with "The Master Ruler". I was really amazed at these results! I was also amazed at how quickly the children learned fractions using this ruler. They loved them! They want them! They don't want to use the "old" rulers anymore!"
